Prototype 1996/97 adidas home shirt

I've seen some things in my time as a County fan. Things we never thought we'd see. Frank Sinclair as player manager seeing his Colwyn Bay side turn us over. Three relegations in four years. Fans in a wheelbarrow around the running track at Bradford Park Avenue. Three promotions in five years.

And now this.

What is it, you ask. And may you well ask. It's something I've never seen before. With a bit of research and speaking to the right people I'm led to believe it's a prototype for our most famous ever shirt, the 96/97 adidas home.

The haters will say it's a County shirt without a crest. Which isn't untrue. But you know that this is something quite special. It's likely to be one of only a tiny number ever made, possibly the only one ever. It comes with stitched Nationwide League sleeve patches. It has long sleeves! Long sleeve versions of this shirt were only ever for the players. And this was obtained directly from a former club employee who has had it tucked away for the last 28 years.

Picture the scene. Castle Street, SK3. Saturday 20th April 2024. Crowned Champions with the League Two trophy, the party moves on to The Strip. Everyone bouncing around Home Bargains. Gary's cleaned out of room temperature lager. And, in the middle, you. In a one of a kind County shirt.

Size XL, immaculate condition. Not a stitch out of place.
